What makes this important and worthy of focus and what does the data / information / observations tell me?

The students themselves have many skills and a lot of knowledge.  I've always believed that the teacher is only one person with knowledge and skills.  So I've encouraged kids to see that they can teach others too.

I have dabbled with peer tutoring in Term 4 across a range of subject areas for the past two years.  My observation is that it has multiple benefits for those being taught AND those doing the teaching.  I want to explore this further and formalise it, starting early in the year.

While I enjoy the workshop system I have employed, I don't get to see every student frequently enough.  If selected students can take workshops, then those who need it will get more explicit teaching time.
