Integration

How does this relate to the school’s annual plan?
  • To make workshops and clinics the most powerful teacher intervention
  • Learning next steps are visible for all
  • Students are able to see where they are currently and where they need to move to next
  • Workshops are designed to move children from ‘stuck’ to ‘moving on’

My performance agreement?
Providing learning opportunities for every child relative to his/her needs, abilities and stage of development.
Workshops will ensure students attend sessions that are directed at their own learning need.

Recognise the individuality of every pupil.
Every child recognised and catered for as an individual with regard to their learning goals and needs.

Assessment for Learning
Evidence of assessment will be demonstrated through evolving and modified teaching programmes.
Formative assessment will occur as students attend and master their workshops.

Undertake Performance Management Appraisal
Resulting from an agreed performance appraisal teachers will have identified areas of professional development, showing a willingness to pursue training , demonstrating measurable change in their professional performance.

Undertake Professional Development
Through reading, staff and personal development programmes, teachers will demonstrate in their daily teaching, awareness of and familiarity with new trends, development and curriculum.

Goals:
What am I learning?  What am I getting better at?
Actions:
How am I going to achieve my goal?
Achievements:
What will success look like?
How will I know I have achieved my goal?  What evidence could I include to demonstrate my achievement?
To show improvements and development of teachers and accelerated learning in children through the use of the Teacher Inquiry process.
  • Attend professional development sessions on the implement of the school teacher inquiry process and how to use in class
  • Using data gathered from testing to select target children and monitoring to be review these regularly.(Data monitoring process)
  • Partake in professional reading and discussions around target groups and share ideas for practice.
  • Use teacher inquiry plan to inform practice and next steps for learning.
  • Teachers will be confident using teacher inquiry as a tool for personal and student development.
  • Children in my class are inspired inquirers and drive their own learning.
  • Professional discussions have taken place around my target group and areas and strategies for improvement.
  • My target group has improved and my teachers inquiry have benefitted the whole class.

School Charter?
  • Making explicit real learning experiences.
  • There will be flexible grouping, extension and support programmes and teacher/student strengths will be utilised.
  • Provide evidence to show we are working to improve progress and achievement through data collection and analysis.
  • Students are able to recognise their own achievements/success.

The schoolwide PD focus?
  • Schoolwide PD focus is around innovative learning environments for students.  My existing classroom practice is ideally positioned to include a Workshop style approach.

My classes data needs?
  • Data from PATs show 4.1 as the average Maths stanine for my class
  • There is a large group of Year Six students who need to be at Stage 6 by the end of the year
  • Data already clearly identifies the students in this group, so teachers need to ensure they are informed.*
  • Close analysis of PAT results, most importantly the information that is available on individual students.*
  • Identifying areas for improvement is to be closely inquired into.  PD on using the analysis of results if required for the Teachers (3) currently working at this level.*
  • Specific workshops and clinics are to be delivered that address these student ‘gaps in knowledge’.*
  • PAT for this target group only in 2015 will be administered at beginning and end of year. An analysis of teacher impact can be determined.*

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
Classroom responsibilities to pupils

Appraisal Goal 1
To show growth and development of teachers and children through the use of the Teacher Inquiry process.*

* From the school charter
