Trialling SOLE

What has Happened?

We have completed several SOLEs.  Some have been more successful than others ie the question, ‘Does Team New Zealand have a good chance of winning the Americas Cup?’ was a step too far (at that stage no racing had taken place and most of the students had never heard of the Cup.  As well as that, students expected Google to give us a direct answer).  

The successful SOLEs included, ‘How should we care for the Flamingo Plant gifted to us by our student teacher?’ as well as several Marae protocol and Afghan refugee questions.  I am convinced about the usefulness of SOLE in my classroom.
