Focusing Inquiry (Focus Justification)

What is important (and therefore worth spending time on given where my students are at?  Why am I focusing on this?

Parents should be children’s first and most important educators - not computers, IOS devices, TVs or even schools.  I want to be closer to the parents and have them very aware of what their children are learning at school.

I’m wanting to further refine the SDL (Self Directed Learning) aspect of my class programme.  It is essential that my students gain success in meeting their ‘achieved’ levels each week and perhaps move into gaining merit and excellence.  Having parents updated daily on where their children are at will be helpful to everyone.  

I also think it is important that student ePortfolios have an audience.  We’ve spent a lot of time over the past few years on their ePortfolios, but if we are to make them more valid they must have more people commenting and giving useful feedback.
